Predicting Your Baby’s Gender the Old Fashioned Way

Before Ultrasound scans, women had fun predicting their baby’s gender by doing these little tests:

How are you carrying?

If you are carrying your bump high up and your belly is shaped like a watermelon it is a girl, and carrying lower down with a basketball shaped belly means it’s a boy.

What are your taste buds telling you?

Generally, if you have a sweet tooth in the early stages of your pregnancy you can shop for pink goodies. A sour or salty palate should mean you’ll be shopping for blue.

Is your skin happy?

According to legend, a baby girl ‘steals’ her mother’s beauty while she is in the womb, so if you are having breakouts you will probably welcome a daughter into the world.

Do you have morning sickness?

Girls often make their moms really sick in the first trimester. Little or no morning sickness can point to a boy.

What does your wedding ring say?

Tie a piece of string to your wedding ring (or any ring for that matter). Hold the end of the string and dangle the ring over your belly. If it turns in a circle you are expecting a girl, and if it swings back and forth it is a boy.

What is the key pointing to?

This is one for a friend to do... Place a car key on the table on front of your pregnant friend. If she pick it up by the shaft she is likely to have a girl, and if she grabs it by the round part she probably has a little boy on the way.

Are the numbers in your favour?

The Mayans have a simple method of predicting pink or blue using your age at conception and the year in which you conceived. If both numbers are even or odd you have pink in your future, and if you have one even number and one odd you can break out the blue.

Will the ancient chart reveal all?

The Chinese have a system that plots your age at time of conception, and the month of conception on a graph to predict the gender of your baby. Chinese Gender Prediction Chart

The Chinese have a system that plots the Mother’s age at time of conception, and the month of conception on a graph to predict the gender of your baby. For example, if you are 29 and you conceived in April, they say you will most likely have a girl! Have a look at the chart below and see if you have pink or blue in your future!
